Craufurd brings out the spooks

THE Craufurd Arms will be festering with maggots tomorrow evening.

But before excitable Health & Safety officers reach for their work bags, we should point out that the venue isn’t struggling with a rather unsavoury cleanliness problem.

Slipknot fans are affectionately known as maggots, and with the tribute mob Knotslip booked for the venue’s Halloween bash, the place will be brimming with ‘em...

Knotslip don’t do things by half, and don the masks and suits to give you the full experience of the Iowa metal heads.

Expect a frenetic, ferocious and altogether fabulous set from the multi-legged heavies.

Metal fans can get stuck in for a long night of the loud and lairy too – supporting sets will come from Lamb of Dog (yup, a tribute to Randy Blythe’s Lamb of God) and Canvas Bats...playing the music of Cancer Bats, naturally.

Punters are being encouraged to don fancy dress (“We’re looking for a dead evening wear kind of vibe” say organisers), but it’s not essential if you want to wuss out.

Entry is a fiver, falling by a quid if you’ve dressed spookily.

OVER at Wonderworld, organisers promise the ‘devil is in the detail’ for their hairy halloween shenanigans.

On Saturday night, the choice is yours to make: Are you a saint or a sinner?

Wonderworld will bring the scary to the party, while you forget all about your usual tipples, and try a glass of something frightful – how about one of their seasonal Blood Shots, or for a real thirst quencher, try a Death by Toffee Apple pitcher!

And we should mention the monkey head cocktails...just ‘cause.

While the deathly drinks assault your tastebuds (in a good way), the sounds tickling your ears will be a fusion of house, chart, funky, dub step and electro.

Tickets are £7 in advance, or a quid more on the door.

Doors at 10pm.
