The defendants are accused of making false representations to members of the public about the history or condition of the dogs they were selling between March 1 2019 and November 1 last year.

They have now been banned from selling any more pups until their case goes to trial.

All of the defendants are from MK and appeared through remote video link at Aylesbury Crown Court, where they responded to the charges and were released on bail.

Margaret Cawley, John Cawley, Joseph Cawley senior, Michael Cawley, Joseph Cawley junior, Annalise Cawley, Rebecca Hall, John O'Brian, Wendy O'Brian, Austin Paice, Katie Salmon and Mary Ward all denied one count of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.

Daniel Yeboah, of Avon House, Avon Grove, Bletchley, admitted the same offence. The court heard that "others unknown" had also been involved in the offences.

The defendants were appearing on the Cloud Video Platform through their smart phones and devices from separate support bubbles located in Milton Keynes, Bucks.

Judge Francis Sheridan prohibited the defendants from selling any puppies without the written permission of the Crown Prosecution Service ahead of a trial on April 30 at the same court.
