Two club operators were ordered to pay more than £1,800 on Friday after breaching a statutory noise abatement notice.

Director Abdul Masobbir and operations manager Anfor Farooque, who run Cafés & Bars MK Ltd, were running the Park Lane bar in 2011 when they were found guilty.

Tha pair were fined £700 each with £400 costs and a £15 victim surcharge at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Friday. District Judge Matthews heard how in spring 2011 residents complained to Milton Keynes Council about loud music from the bar.

After several warnings council officers met with Mr Farooque to agree noise limiter levels, monitored from outside. A noise abatement notice was served on May 31, 2011 after more complaints. In June 2011, Dr Steve Moorhouse, the council’s environmental protection team leader, heard loud music coming from the bar at a level breaching the notice when he visited the site.

Judge Matthews agreed the noise was a statutory nuisance and found both men guilty.

The Park Lane bar has since changed its trading name twice in February and November 2012.
