Driver cleared over fatal crash at Center Parcs Woburn Forest near Milton Keynes

The driver of a buggy has been cleared of causing the death of a co-worker after a crash at Center Parcs in Millbrook in 2023.

Penny Bulpitt, 67, from Luton, was on a pedal bike at Center Parcs Woburn Forest when she was involved in a collision with an electric all-terrain vehicle at 12.10pm on Friday (September 22) at the resort near Milton Keynes.

East of England Ambulance Service airlifted Penny to a hospital in Cambridge, but she died the following day.

John Davies, 66, had been driving the all-terrain vehicle, and appeared at Luton Crown Court for trial, accused of causing death by careless driving.

But Judge Michael Simon directed the jury to give a not guilty verdict yesterday (February 10) and Mr Davies was cleared of the charge.

At the time of her death, Penny’s family said: “She was loved by everyone who knew her.”

In a statement at the time, Center Parcs said it was in supporting her family and colleagues, as well as working closely with all the relevant authorities.
