An eleven-year-old was sexually assaulted on Friday as she made her way across a busy city bridge.

The girl was walking past the Premier Inn around 7.20am when a man approached her from behind before pushing her to the floor and sexually assaulting her.

The offender was white, around 30-years-old with green or brown eyes. He was around 5ft 9ins thin with brown hair. He was wearing a dark blue hooded top with a dot of white paint on the back, dark blue jeans and brown safety boots with steel toecaps.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Brenda McDaid from Milton Keynes CID, said: “This was at a time of day when there would have been a lot of people around in the area, so we want to talk to anyone who saw a man matching this description.

“I would like to reassure the community that we will do all we can to find the offender and our officers are conducting patrols on the area, so if anyone has any concerns, please do speak to one of the officers.”

Local Police Area Commander Barry Halliday said: “These types of offences are extremely rare and I want to reassure people that everything is being done to locate and arrest this individual.

“I would ask people to remain vigilant and to report anything suspicious to officers. And anyone who has any concerns at all, please do approach a member of our neighbourhood team out on patrol.”
