Knife-wielding, home-invading, taxi-jumpers found guilty of Milton Keynes crimes

A man and a woman have been found guilty of committing an aggravated burglary in Milton Keynes and running away from a taxi without paying

Thames Valley Police (TVP) said Nicola Kepple and Paul Sellars, both of Malletts Close, Stony Stratford, were convicted on Tuesday (October 27) at Aylesbury Crown Court.

Officers said Kepple, aged 42, was found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict of one count of aggravated burglary and one count of making off without payment.

TVP said Sellars, aged 46, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated burglary, one count of making off without payment and one count of assault.

The conviction is over an incident which happened on Sunday, November 3 2019 at an address in Portland Drive and another incident in Christian Court on the same evening.

Officer said Kepple and Sellars took a taxi to Christian Court where they ran away without paying.

Police said Kepple then knocked on the door of a property in Portland Drive and asked the victim if she could use the phone.

Sellars then pushed his way into the house armed with a knife and wearing a balaclava. He assaulted the victim, causing injuries to her head, hand and leg. Kepple took a small quantity of cash and ran away, followed by Sellars, according to TVP.

Kepple and Sellars are due to be sentenced on December 7 at Aylesbury Crown Court.

Investigation officer Detective Constable Hollie Cromarty said: “I am pleased that we have been able to bring a sense of justice to the victim in what was understandably a distressing situation.

“TVP thoroughly investigates burglaries and brings offenders to justice. I hope this sends a message for other criminals that you will be investigated and brought before the courts for justice to be served.”
