A burglar who locked his victim out of her own house has been jailed for more than two years.
Matthew Morris, 38, broke into the Ashland house in the middle of one afternoon in July.
The homeowner returned home with her young son to find the front door was locked from the inside.
Meanwhile Morris escaped through the back garden and drove off in a nearby car with the games console he had stolen.
Morris, of no fixed abode, was jailed for 28 months and ordered to pay £900 costs.
A police spokesman said: “This was a particularly distressing incident for the victim and her son.”
