Man attacked and robbed in city alley

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a robbery on Friday.

At 11.30am a 26-year-old man was walking through an alleyway near Cranesbill Place, Conniburrow, rolling a cigarette. As he looked up from his cigarette, he was punched in the head by a man and fell to the floor. The man then stole £85 from the victim’s pocket.

The man is white, in his mid thirties, about 6ft, with short dark hair. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with a silver Nike tick on the side, a black and purple chequered hooded top, and blue trousers which were possibly jeans.

The victim was left with a red mark to his face and dizziness after the incident, but did not require hospital treatment.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or recognises the description of the offender should contact Det Con Sam Reynolds via the Police Enquiry Centre on 101.
