Thames Valley police is appealing for witnesses to an aggravated burglary on Saturday.
Just after midnight, the 19-year-old victim was smoking in his back garden in Gunver Lane, Tattenhoe, when around five men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, all carrying knives, came through the gate.
The victim ran inside and tried to lock the door, but the offenders pushed the door open and forced the victim onto the floor and tied his hands, cutting his hand with a knife in the process. They threatened him with a knife and stole a mobile phone and a knife before leaving.
Detective Constable Jes Cousen, investigating officer, said: “This was a nasty attack, but it seems the burglars knew the victim. We would urge anyone with any information, or who may have seen these men in the street in the area at the time to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Cousen on the non-emergency number 101 or, if you would prefer to remain anonymous, please contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
