Thames Valley Police is appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Milton Keynes on Friday.

At about 12.30pm, a 20-year-old woman was walking in Rochfords, Coffee Hall, with her baby in a pushchair. When she was about 200 metres away from the local centre, she was confronted by a man who asked for money and produced a steak knife. The victim replied that she did not have any money and the man walked off.

The man was black with very dark skin, about 20 years old, 6ft 2ins, of medium build, with a stubbly beard. He was wearing a red bomber jacket with white sleeves, a black baseball cap worn backwards with ‘NY’ on the front, and black jogging bottoms with a large white Nike tick across the rear.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident or the man hanging around, or who recognises his description, should contact Detective Constable Wendy Cissell via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.

If you don’t want to speak to police or leave your name, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
