Men switching number plates on vehicles are caught red-handed on Milton Keynes estate

Police sprang into action when they were tipped off about three suspicious-looking vehicles on a city estate.

Officers arrived at Ashlands just in time to see three males changing over number plates on the vehicles.

Two of the men ran away, while the third was found nearby and arrested.

Police gave chase using tracker dogs to search and the second man was traced.

"The third male thought it would be a good idea to play hide and seek in one of the vehicles. He is clearly bad at this game as he was also arrested for conspiring to steal from a motor vehicle," said a police spokesman..

He added: "All three have been released under investigation. Three vehicles were seized for further investigations along with lots of stolen tools, number plates and a set of golf clubs."
