Cecil Scott, 63, ploughed into the back of another car while driving at 70mph on the M4 at Newport in Wales in June 2018.
Driver Jeffrey Williams was killed in the collision, which was described in a Cardiff court as "catastrophic".

Hide AdScott, of Ashfield on Stantonbury, was on his way home after delivering vehicles in South Wales.
The court heard he had collapsed earlier in the day of the crash after becoming hypoglycemic due to his diabetes. He continued to drive after the episode.
A former train driver, Scott had an unblemished record, the court heard.
He was jailed for four and a half years and banned him from driving for six years.
