A 30-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been sentenced to six months in prison for assault.

Sanchez Simmons, of Swan House, Millward Drive, was found guilty of one count of assault by beating at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 9

Simmons was also made subject to an indefinite restraining order where he is not to contact the victim, or attend any address the victim resides at.

This is in connection with incidents between 15 February and 17 February this year in which Simmons took advantage of the victim by moving into their house and assaulting them.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Thomas Nielson, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “The victim in this case was vulnerable and Simmons took advantage of this, taking over his house, and subjecting him to a sustained assault.

“Thames Valley Police take reports of these instances very seriously and work hard to bring offenders to justice and safeguard victims.

“There are several signs to look out for that may indicate someone is a victim of cuckooing such as changes in their daily routine and unfamiliar visitor at unsociable hours.

“Through our Stronghold campaign, we are committed to tackling serious organised crime and exploitation.
