Milton Keynes milkman put on Sex Offenders' Register after asking 13-year-old girl for naked pictures of herself, court hears

Michael White, who lives in Newport Pagnell, used the messaging app Kik to speak to the teenage girl under the pseudonym "bad teacher".

He claimed he was a teacher at a £15,000-a-year private school, a judge heard.

The 42-year-old was messaging the schoolgirl between April and June last year, claiming that he had split up from his wife and that he was a PE teacher at the renowned independent school.

He even boasted he had kissed a 14-year-old pupil.

In fact, the court heard that White was not a teacher but a married milkman who claimed in a prepared statement to police he had been living in an "alternate reality".

Officers became aware that the married man had been messaging the child and executed a search warrant at his home address, where they discovered the extent of the online conversations.

Prosecutor Sandra Beck said: "It is clear from the subject of the conversation that he does have a sexual interest in children. He asked questions about her sexual experience, he was interested in her body and he requested naked images.

"He indicated he would like to meet and he also made other comments concerning masturbating when he thought about her. He also claimed he had kissed a 14-year-old student."

During a full interview with police, he denied he was getting sexual gratification from the messaging but he was just "intrigued" and claimed he was in an alternate reality - before stating he didn’t want his wife to find out, the court heard.

Defence counsel Iwona Boesche explained that the defendant was going through a "difficult period of his life" as his father had passed away and his mother had disowned him.

Sitting at Aylesbury Crown Court, Mr Recorder Alex Wright sentenced White to six months in prison suspended for 24 months. He must also undertake 100 hours of unpaid work, 30 rehabilitation requirement days and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for seven years - as well as sign onto the Sex Offenders' Register for seven years.
