Yesterday (February 8) MK Trading Standards warned residents to be careful of fake text messages enticing victims to believe they're receiving a Covid related grant.

The text contains a link to a phishing site designed to steal money from the unsuspecting. Victims are led to believe that by clicking the link they can claim a UK government-funded grant for £277.59.

The deadline to claim for the third Self-Employment Income Support Scheme was January 29 with information on the next grant set to be announced March 3.
