Disabled Teresa Davey heard a loud knocking on the door of her Stacey Bushes bungalow at 10.45pm on Sunday night.

"I was in bed but I got up to see what was happening. They kept banging and banging so eventually I opened the door a fraction to tell them to stop," she said.

"There were three men, all dressed in black and wearing balaclavas. I told them to go away but they pushed the door open and came inside."

The men pushed 68-year-old Teresa aside and pinned her against a radiator in her hallway, bruising her shoulder and torso in the process.

"One held me while the other two went into my bedroom. It was terrifying. I was also worried they would hurt my little dog, Boris, who was barking away at them," she said.

At that point Teresa, who is disabled with arthritis, remembered her community alarm system she rents from Milton Keynes Council.

"I pressed the alarm button and someone answered immediately. I shouted as loud as I could for them to get the police," she said.

Police arrived minutes later, but meantime Teresa's neighour had heard the commotion and come out to investigate.

"The robbers disappeared, taking my mobile phone with them. Luckily they didn't steal anything else and the police found my phone dumped nearby," she said.

Teresa, who is still in pain from her bruises, is warning other pensioners never to answer the door to strangers.

"I was silly, I shouldn't have opened my door. I just don't want other people to go through the same as I did," she said.

Anybody who knows anything about the culprits should call police on 101.
