Police blitz three Milton Keynes estates, stopping people to search for drugs and weapons

Increased police patrols on three city estate have resulted in 13 stop and searches and three drug arrests.

Following concerns raised by residents, police this week increased their patrols in the Fullers Slade, Wolverton and Greenleys areas of MK.

Today they have given the results of their extra efforts.

A spokesman said: "Thirteen stop searches have been completed. A 16-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs. Items recovered included cash, phones and controlled drugs."

He added: "A 50-year-old male and 49-year-old female have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A controlled drugs and suspicion of possession of a bladed article. This was following a stop and search. Items recovered included a lock knife, suspected Class A drugs, cash and phones."

Investigations are continuing in both cases.

The spokesman added: "Information we receive from the community is essential in helping us fight crime. Together we can take criminals off the street and keep Milton Keynes safe."
