Police in Milton Keynes are today conducting vehicle checks to hammer home the lockdown message.

Thames Valley Police officers have been stopping motorists to check whether their journey is essential, as set out by government guidelines.

"We are conducting vehicle checked to engage with the public around Covid-19, explaining and encouraging those not making essential trips why to stay at home," a police spokesman said.
