Police conduct helicopter search after man is threatened with machete in Milton Keynes town

Armed police and tracker dogs responded an assault by a man with a machete and a staffie-type dog.

A man in his twenties was approached by the unknown male at 9.38pm on Tuesday in a Fenny Stratford car park.

The offender, who had a Staffordshire terrier-type dog with him, threatened the victim with a machete and then struck his car, causing damage to the door.

The offender fled the scene and police sent armed officers and tracker dogs to the scene and the force helicopter conducted a search.

No arrests have been made and nobody was injured.

One nearby resident said: "I saw two officers with guns and one officer with a dog run past my house. It was quite concerning."

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened in the Waterhill car park off Mill Road.

The offender is a white man, around 5ft 8ins tall with a slim build and a shaved head.

He had a short beard or stubble and was wearing a white/grey t-shirt and an Adidas or Nike tracksuit, dark in colour, and Reebok Classic trainers.
