Police give insight into 24 hours of crime in Milton Keynes - with more than 80 crimes and incidents to investigate

An insight into local policing has revealed 30 reports of domestic crimes and incidents in the past 24 hours.

MK police published on social media a "brief overview" of their daily jobs discussed at this morning's management meeting.

It included more than 80 crimes and almost 100 more reported incidents that need to be investigated.

"This is an opportunity to review and discuss notable crimes/incidents from the last 24 hours in MK," said a spokesman.

Top of the list was a "messy" burglary at a house in Rovely Court, Stony Stratford. This happened during the day yesterday and there was a messy search with a wallet and money stolen. Enquiries are ongoing.

Next was a report of a robbery in Farthing Grove on Netherfield.

Then came 30 "domestic crimes and incidents", all of which must be reviewed for investigation. These ranged from allegations of assaults, stalking, coercive control, criminal damage and even threats to kill.

There were three reports of sexual offences, and these are currently being investigated by CID.

And there were two reports of racially aggravated common assault, plus two reports of assaults on emergency workers.

In one of them, a suspect is alleged to have coughed in the faces of police officers while claiming to have Covid- 19.

Early turn officers also have started their shift with four missing person investigations. Enquiries are ongoing to locate them safe and well.

There were five custody handovers, with detainees being held on suspicion of offences ranging from domestic assaults, theft, stalking, racially aggravated public disorder and assault on emergency workers.

On top of this, police are today dealing with three unauthorised encampments in MK. These require ongoing management by partnership work between MK Council and police neighbourhood teams.

They also have three reports for non compliance for Covid-19 related matters to deal with.

There are also 29 open jobs that police officers will be expected to attend, along with 98 reported crimes for the force's Smarter Resolution Team to follow up today with victims.
