Thames Valley Police (TVP) said that between 3.30pm and 3.45pm on Monday, November 16, the victim was walking near Heronsgate School, Lichfield Down, in Walnut Tree.

Police said the 18-year-old boy had earphones in listening to music and as he turned right onto Lichfield Down from an alleyway, he felt a punch to the back of his head, which caused him to fall to the floor, suffering a grazed knee.

Officers said that as he turned to find out what had caused him to fall, he was punched in the face by the offender, who was wearing a gold ring on his right middle finger.

TVP said the victim got up and fought his attacker off, and the offender then picked up the victim’s phone, headphones and lanyard and ran away.

The victim did not require hospital treatment.

Police said the offender is white, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall with a broad build.

He was wearing a facial covering, a black hooded top, a beanie-style hat with a white pattern on the side and a dark-coloured scarf. He was also wearing a pair of charcoal-coloured ripped baggy jeans, according to TVP.

Officers said two other people were standing near some shops around 100 yards away, but no-one intervened.

Investigating officer detective constable Sebastian Kuzoe said: “This incident happened in the middle of the afternoon, and I am appealing to anybody who believes that they witnessed this to please get in touch with us.

“I’m particularly keen to hear from the two bystanders near to the shops, as it’s possible that they would have seen what happened and could provide information to assist this investigation.
