A group of other young males approached them from Limbaud Close, spoke to the two boys and then moved on.

But one of the group then turned round and returned to the two boys, say police,

"He started punching one of them to the head and told him to hand over his belongings," said a spokesman.

The victim's friend tried to help by putting out his arm to stop the offender - but the offender then punched him and took his bike.

The offender walked off in the direction of Walnut Tree.
