Police stumble across cannabis factory in house on family-friendly Milton Keynes estate

Traffic and neighbourhood officers were investigating a theft from a motor vehicle on the estate and knocked on the door to question a suspect.

"On arrival at the home address, officers were welcomed with a familiar smell," said a police spokesman.

They found a large stash of thriving cannabis plants, complete with a light and watering system.

The haul of plants is now being seized and two males have been arrested for cultivation of cannabis as well as theft from a motor vehicle.

Both are currently in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
