Thames Valley Police said that at around 4.25pm on Saturday, September 12, the victim, a woman in her fifties, left her shopping bag in the seating area of Starbucks in the Silbury Arcade shopping centre in Milton Keynes.

Officers said a family of four sitting nearby took the bag before leaving the shopping centre without handing it in to security staff.

According to police, a large amount of cosmetics and hair products were taken.
