Imraan Ladak failed to surrender himself after he was sentenced to six months in jail earlier this year for contempt of court and a warrant was issued on October 7 for his arrest.

A High Court judge had imposed the sentence after hearing he had breached an order by making derogatory comments about former colleagues at Pertemps Medical Group (PMG).

On Sunday night police officers were called to a Milton Keynes Travelodge, just a few hundreds yards from the police station, following a sighting of the 42-year-old. He is now beginning his prison sentence.

Mr Ladak who was once named in a Sunday Times Rich List, ran Kettering Town FC from 2005 to 2013. He has been involved at a high level in several Milton Keynes companies. He is currently listed on Companies House as the chief executive of MK-based OOH Medical.

He left medical recruitment firm Pertemps Medical Group (PMG) in 2018 with a settlement of more than £125,000, as well as a payment of almost £400,000 for his shares.

As part of his settlement he agreed not to say anything that would bring the firm into disrepute or make derogatory comments about it and its employees.

A High Court hearing heard that in 2019 he claimed he was owed £20,000 by Pertemps Medical Group and made a series of accusations in an attempt to get more compensation, breaching the contract and pursuing a "campaign of harassment".

On two occasions a judge ordered him not to do so through an interim injunction. But a court found he breached the order by sending emails and private messages on LinkedIn.

His Honour Judge Rajeev Shetty said: “Unfortunately, despite repeated warnings… he [Ladak] would often repeat assertions of fraud against the claimants and persons connected with the claimant and go on to describe conspiracies concerning him and others acting as whistleblowers.”

A previous court judgment revealed Mr Ladak accused former colleagues of racism saying their emails were "more racist than Tommy Robinson".

Mr Ladak received two consecutive terms of three months each for the contempt counts. He was ordered to serve the six months at HMP Birmingham.

Judge Shetty said: "The said sentences are to be served consecutively from the date of the defendant’s surrender, or in default of his surrender, his apprehension.”

A Thames Valley police spokesman told the Citizen today: "Thames Valley Police has arrested a 42-year-old man from Milton Keynes on a warrant in connection with a contempt of court. Further enquiries should be directed to the Royal Courts of Justice."
