Teenager is threatened with knife in canalside robbery in Milton Keynes

A 17-year-old boy was pulled off his bike and threatened with a knife by two robbers in MK.

The boy was cycling along the Grand Union Canal near to Bradville at around 2.30pm on Tuesday when his path was blocked by two men.

They told the boy to hand over his bike and when he refused, one of them lifted the bike by the handlebars, causing him to fall off.

The other man pulled out a knife and threatened the boy, say police.

The men then took the boy’s mobile phone from his pocket, ripping his clothes and causing him to fall over. They then ran off along the canal towards Grafton Street.

Stolen in the attack were an iPhone and a black, white and orange mountain bike with ‘FLYING’ written on the frame and handlebars that curve forwards at a 90 degree angle.

The first offender is described as a thin, mixed race man in his mid-twenties and around 6ft 3ins tall. He was wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up, Nike trainers and a black face covering.

The second offender is described as a slim white man in his mid-twenties, around 5ft 10ins tall with black hair and facial hair. He was wearing a black tracksuit with his hood up, white trainers and a face covering.

Investigating officer PC Siobhan Jones, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time, either walking or on a boat and saw or heard anything suspicious, to get in touch.

“This incident understandably left the victim feeling shaken and I am keen to hear from anyone who can help with this investigation.
