The stabbing of a teenager at the city centre has prompted a police appeal for witnesses.

The 17-year-old was approached by a man near The Point on Saturday evening and an argument developed.

Police say the pair walked down Avebury Boulevard, where a fight broke out between them between 8pm and 8.40pm.

The offender pulled out a knife and stabbed the teenager before running away.

He is described as black, around 20 years old, chubby, around 6ft tall. He sported a goatee beard, long sideburns and had three or four lines cut into his eyebrows.

The victim was taken to Milton Keynes General hospital, but was later discharged.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Carmella Gordon said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this incident in which a teenager has been stabbed. We are keen to speak to anyone who has seen this incident, or recognises the man from our description. I would ask anyone to call Thames Valley Police on 101.”

If you don’t want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
