Three men jailed for 'terrifying' armed burglary carried out while teenagers and child were in Milton Keynes family home

Three men have been sentenced for a violent burglary where they went armed with knives, hammers and an imitation firearm to a family home in Milton Keynes while two teenagers and a child were inside.

Police say five young men approached a home in the Old Farm Park area of Milton Keynes and entered the garden through a side gate on December 5 2024. Four of the offenders then went through a back conservatory door to get inside the property, while another stayed outside acting as a lookout.

Two people managed to flee the address after seeing the offenders approaching. But two teenagers and a child remained inside the property. The offenders were armed with weapons including a hammer, knives and an imitation firearm.

After entering the property, they threatened the occupants and demanded money while searching the house. During the incident, one victim had a knife pointed at their chest and another was threatened with a hammer while the offenders searched rooms within the address.

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, all four defendants were identified and charged. Each entered guilty pleas on various dates.

The fifth person, who acted as a look-out, was never identified.

He received concurrent prison terms of three years and two months for a robbery of a taxi driver in October 2025 and two years and 11 months for a robbery at a public house in September 2024.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Grace Boland, of the Priority Crime Team based in Milton Keynes, said: “This was a terrifying and violent burglary carried out by a group of offenders who targeted a family home while children were inside.
