His last Facebook entry was on November 4, when he re-posted a statement saying 'no-one stays forever btw' (by the way).

Meanwhile friends and family have paid tribute to Lewis on social media.

His sister Lauren wrote on Facebook: "Words can’t explain how devastated I am. You weren’t meant to go yet, you had your whole life in front of you and you were so ready for it.

"You're a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin and an uncle and we will all forever love and miss you."

Lauren added: "How are we meant to carry on without you? I’m expecting you to come strolling through the door with your cheeky grin... I’ll forever hold your memories close to my heart.

"I miss you so much already and I wish I could’ve given you a cuddle and told you that I loved you. But for now sleep tight baby bro."

Lewis had a girlfriend who also took to social media to describe him as "the love of my life".

She said: "I'm never gonna forget whenever you walked in a room and looked at me with your cheeky little smile....I'm so glad I knew you and got to know you."

Other tributes on social media referred to Lewis as a "polite and respectful" young man.
