Two people released on bail as police try to piece together Milton Keynes murder

A woman and a young man who were arrested for a fatal stabbing at the weekend have both been released on bail by police.

The pair were arrested following the death of a 48-year-old man from stab wounds to his neck in Clay Hill, Two Mile Ash, on Saturday morning.

He was the fifth person in Milton Keynes to die from knife wounds since October last year.

The arrested woman, who lives in MK and is 49, and the 24-year-old man from Nuneaton have both been released on conditional police bail until March 28. Both had been arrested at the scene in a property on Clay Hill.

Police had been granted an extension of time to hold them in custody and question them.

Today officers from the Major Crime Unit are putting out an appeal for witnesses to help them discover exactly what happened in Two Mile Ash,.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Andy Shearwood said: “We are working to thoroughly investigate the circumstances that led to the death of a man in Clay Hill on Saturday.

“Two people who were arrested and questioned in connection with this incident have now been released on bail, and I am appealing again to the local community for their help as our investigation continues.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who was in the area of Two Mile Ash between 7.30am and 9.30am on Saturday who witnessed any unusual activity to please contact police.

“Even if you think what you have seen is not significant, it may be crucial to our investigation, and similarly, if anybody was driving in the area, please can you check dash-cam footage and if it has captured any unusual activity, please make contact with us.

“Similarly, if you saw or heard anything in the hours leading up to Saturday’s incident, please contact us."

DI Shearwood said local residents will continue to see an increased presence of officers in the area and police will be conducting further house to house and CCTV enquiries.

“We are working to establish what has happened, and I would also urge the community not to speculate as to the circumstances that led up to this," he said.
