Thieves struck while the company’s van was parked overnight in Burners Lane, Kiln Farm.

When the company returned on Sunday morning at 9.30am, they discovered damage to the van, which had been emptied of show materials and personal items.

Puppets, cash and clothing were among the many items taken.

Vagabondi Puppets had no alternative but to cancel Sunday’s ‘It’s a Pirates Life for Me’ performance, which they were due to perform as part of the MK Fringe Festival programme.

With help and support from people and groups in Milton Keynes, including Festive Road, Vagabondi Puppets will still perform though.

This afternoon they will deliver the ‘Voice of Wood’ at Milton Keynes Central Library, at 3.45pm, and a rescheduled show at The Chrysalis Theatre is set for tomorrow at 3pm.

The company is also remaking its set for ‘It’s a Pirates Life for Me’ which will be at The Chrysalis Theatre on Thursday, at 3pm.
