A cyclist was robbed of his bike during an incident in early on Wednesday morning.

Between 6.20am and 6.30am, a 23-year-old man was cycling on the Redway under H6 Childs Way, close to the V11 Fox Milne roundabout, when he was punched in the face by a man, causing him to fall off his bike.

The offender, who had a knife in his hand, demanded the victim hand over his bike, a black and silver Trek mountain bike.

The victim suffered swelling to his face but did not need hospital treatment.

The bike was later found in the Grand Union Canal at Woolstone.

The offender was black, in his late teens, about 6ft, of a slim build and he spoke with an African accent. He was wearing a black hooded top, black tracksuit trousers and black and white Nike Air Max trainers.

Detective Constable Samantha Reynolds, based at Milton Keynes CID, is appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery, or who saw the bike being ridden by the offender after the robbery, to come forward.

If you can help, please call Det Con Reynolds via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101. If you don’t want to speak to police or leave your name, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
