Dancing from the rooftops with Pasadena troupe

THE Pasadena Roof Orchestra are back in play on Friday, with the show Licensed to Swing, at The Stables.

In 1969 man stepped on the moon, and The Beatles played their last public show together.

Big memories, but for Pasadena Orchestra founder John Arthy, his special moment came when he uncovered more than 1000 original dance band arrangements in an attic.

Move forward more than 40 years and the band are still cracking out the sounds of a bygone, but fondly recalled era for cool tunes.

The best of 1920s and 30s compositions are the starting point for a fabulous night out.

Indulge for £20.

Saturday night presents Classical Brit winners Blake, left, on the penultimate date of a lengthy UK tour.

The singers will let their voices shine to the tracks that you expect – Nessun Dorma, Hallelujah, Jerusalem and Bring Him Home.

They will be joined at this show by local choir, Arts1 School of Performance, which is a good reason to make a stupid amount of supporting noises upon their arrival. Tickets are £23.

There are standing tickets only available if you want to see Robin Trower at play this Sunday night.

For more than four decades Rob has shown his rock n roll meets soft psychedelia style, and they don’t call him ‘the white Hendrix’ for no good reason.

Tickets are twenty quid and if you want in for a listen, be quick – get on the blower to the box office now.
