A new footpath has been slammed as “dangerous” by nearby residents who say the elderly are at risk of slipping in the wet weather.
The path, which is on grass outside Melrose Shops in Bletchley, was built by MK Council for walkers to avoid nearby steep steps.
But Councillor Nigel Long says he has had countless complaints about it being slippery - and putting older people at risk of falling.
Mr Long said: “The path has been very useful in creating an alternative to the steep steps, but it is clear that it can be dangerous in wet weather.
“I have written to the council suggesting a couple of handrails would provide a useful safety measure.”
