JOHN Lewis employees in Milton Keynes are in for a fruitful March after they were awarded a bonus equivalent to seven weeks of extra pay.

Despite profits being lower than last year, John Lewis Partnership’s performance nationwide means workers at the John Lewis and Waitrose stores at thecentre:mk, and the distribution centre at Magna Park will receive a 14 per cent bonus on their salary.

One delighted employee is John Lewis’ womenswear section manager Louise Harrison.

Having worked with the company for nearly five years, Louise is pleased to have seen the company performance so well and cannot wait to put the extra cash in her pocket to good use, having recently bought a new home with her boyfriend.

“The John Lewis bonus really does give you something to look forward to throughout the year,” she said.

“It’s a great feeling to know that your hard work is being rewarded.

“Buying and furnishing a new home is definitely not a cheap task so I’m extremely grateful that we can use this bonus to help set up our first ever home together.”
