Dentists get their teeth stuck into cakes... for charity

Have you heard the one about the city dentists who invited all their patients in for a visit... to eat sugary cakes?

That was the unlikely scenario at Newport Pagnell’s Wilson House practice on Friday.

But the cake-eating invitation had a charitable result, with all proceeds raised at the coffee and cake morning donated to Macmillan cancer support charity.

Wilson House dental surgery, based in Station Road, was one of dozens of places in the city to support Macmillan’s biggest Coffee Morning in the World Challenge.

A surgery spokesman said: “It was all in the name of fun and fund-raising. But the cakes did come with advice that people should clean their teeth after eating them!”
