Primary schools around Milton Keynes are being invited to enter designs for a teddy bear outfit in a competition hosted by The ZipYard at Midsummer Place Shopping Centre.
The competition has two categories, one for 4-7 year olds and the other for ages 8-11. Schools will be sent a template of a teddy for children to draw an outfit on and a winner from each category will be selected.
For the third year running, the garment alterations and tailoring centre in Milton Keynes are calling on all aspiring fashionistas to use their imagination and see their designs brought to life by the skilled seamstresses at The ZipYard.
Debbie Steers, manager of the ZipYard Milton Keynes, said: “The competition is a really fun way to encourage children to get creative and introduce them to the skilful trade of clothes alteration and tailoring.
“Entries from the previous years have been fantastic so we’re looking forward to seeing what the kids will come up with this time.”
The winners will have their designs made for their very own teddy to wear and their school will receive a basket of age appropriate sewing materials to use for craft projects. The winner’s school will also receive a cheque from The ZipYard for £100 for art and craft materials.
All entries should be posted or dropped in to The ZipYard at: The ZipYard, Midsummer Place Shopping Centre, MK9 3GB by Friday 26th June 2015. Winners will be announced on Friday, July 10.
Opening hours are: Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to
