The wife of a Bletchley engineer who was seriously injured in a motorbike collision has spoken out about the devastating crash on the A421.

Vicky East said it has “destroyed the life of her family” after husband Dave was hit by a car while travelling towards Buckingham.

Mr East, 42, was airlifted to hospital with a broken neck, a broken back, and broken legs and arms after the crash on the Bletchley Road in Thornborough at the junction with Padbury Road on Wednesday, August 5.

The engineer at Hydrafeed will remain in hospital for a minimum of 12 weeks, but doctors are hopeful he will recover and should be able to walk again.

Mrs East said: “The first I knew about it was when I had a phone call from the scene. The good news is that Dave should make a full recovery.”

A Crowdfunding page has been set-up to support the family financially as Mrs East is unable to work as she suffers from a chronic illness.

The couple have two children, Hayden, five, who attends Bourton Meadow Academy in Buckingham, and Torryn, who is just eight weeks old.

The page is aiming to raise £1,000 and has so far raised £856.

The family live in a rented house off Badgers Way in Buckingham and Mrs East said the ‘landlord has been very understanding about our situation.’

She said: “There are certain things my husband won’t be able to do now such as trials riding.

“Hayden was very interested in motorbikes and I just hope he has not been too traumatised by what has happened.

“People have to remember that bikers have families and have kids.

“I am just thankful that Dave is alive - it could have been worse.”
