A couple who say ‘a tiff a day’ has kept them together for 60 years are celebrating their Diamond Wedding anniversary next week.

Eddie and Barbara Judge married on June 12, 1954, after meeting at Buckingham station where Bletchley-born Eddie was working as a fireman, stoking the coal on the steam train.

And they say ‘the rest is history’, as Barbara borrowed a veil to marry seven months later and went on to have two children, Wendy and Mark.

Eddie, 91, believes he is the last surviving Bletchley railwayman of his generation after becoming a train driver later in his career.

Barbara, 87, worked part time at Finlays sweet shop in Bletchley while Eddie enjoyed playing cricket for Bletchley Town.

The pair lived for 57 years in the same house in Fenny Stratford, moving only recently to Newport Pagnell.
