A CHILDMINDER has won a trip to Disneyland Paris after finding a golden ticket in a promotional pack of cards.

Sharon Lyons had been shopping for her birthday party on Saturday, July 30, and when she was unpacking at her home she spotted the ticket in the first pack she opened.

She said: “I opened the pack and the five or six children I was looking after started screaming – they knew exactly what I had just found.

“They all went wild and when I realised what I had won I was delighted, but so shocked.”

The prize now entitles Sharon, along with one other adult and two children, to two nights free accommodation and three days free entry to the theme park outside Paris.

The hardest part now is deciding who to take with her.

She said: “Obviously I will be taking my partner Dean but I have three grandchildren so it is going to be difficult deciding who I actually take with me.”

After Sharon had won she got in touch with her local Morrisons store at Westcroft to pass on the good news.

She was told that her win was even more surprising as only 1,000 golden tickets were placed in shops across the country.

They also told her that she was one of the first people to win such a prize locally, making her win all the more surprising.

Shoppers are given a pack of five cards for every £30 they spend in store.

There are also extra packs given out to people who find items with Disney logos hidden around the store.

Sharon spent just over £100 on her shopping so received three packs.

She was also awarded two extra packs for finding two special characters on separate shopping items.

She said: “I phoned the store up to let them know the good news and they were naturally delighted.

“The manager told me I could come down to the store and he would give me a free bottle of bubbly, which is such a lovely gesture.”
