THREE teenagers were awarded Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awards by HRH The Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward, when they visited St James’ Palace.
Ellen Axon, Amy Hack and George Bailey had gained the Silver and Bronze levels by completing various activities in volunteering, skills, expedition and residential experiences.
Throughout the course the trio trekked in a number of areas including the Isle of Skye, the Lake District, Snowdonia and Austria. They were part of a city group that was led by Val Symon who is based at the Webber Independent School.
Ellen is studying archaeology at Nottingham University, Amy is at Derby University studying PR and Events Management and George is studying Sports Science Marketing at Northampton.
