Miley the labradoodle went missing from a small-holding near Stoke Hammond on December 22.

She is cream coloured, seven-years-old and easily identifiable because of an unusual black mark on her tongue.

"We are distraught," said owner Clive Murphy, "She is a massive part of the family. Our grandchildren would play hide and seek with her and are always asking when she is coming back to us."

Although she has been missing for a long period of time, her owners have been encouraged by a stream of canal sightings.

"She isn't road sensible, but knows the canal well," said Clive. While the circumstances of her disappearance aren't known, Miley is a friendly dog who had never previously tried to escape.

There have been sightings across Milton Keynes - from Stony Stratford to Woburn, including in Linford Wood, New Bradwell, Wolverton and Downs Barn, where the family lived. It is possible Miley has returned to familiar territory.

"We are so appreciative of everyone taking the time to help us," Clive said, "We just want to be able to share some positive news with everone who has helped."

If you think you see Miley and are able to take a photograph, it would help those searching for her enormously.

A reward is being offered for her safe return. If anyone has any information about Miley, please call 07958 606261 or 07595 292179.

Volunteers are also trying to find chihuahua/jack russell mix Romeo. He squeezed under the fence in his garden in Furzton, a week ago. There was a possible sighting the same night in Bleakhall but nothing since, despite organised searches, posters and letter drops.
