Entrepreneur and mother of a young daughter Keely Jones opened Milton Keynes’ first ever dolls house and miniature shop on Newport Pagnell’s high street on Monday.

This is the first time children and collectors will have a local dolls house specialist in the area.

She said: “We welcome people to come and look around as it is a very unusual shop. This is the second store I’ve opened, my first shop began in Kettering 12 months ago. Its success meant that we could expand and now I’m looking at franchising so others can have as much fun as we have,”

The Dolls House Store is unusual because it provides dolls house building materials on a miniature scale including tiny bricks made of real clay and lead flashing, along with the dolls and a range of modern and period outfits.

“This is an extremely exciting time for us and I couldn’t have done it without my husband. Scott runs a web building and online marketing company called the 123 Internet Group which has attracted orders from overseas. The power of Facebook has been truly amazing – now The Dolls House Store has 8500 online followers. He’s also created the industry’s first mobile app which has so far been downloaded by 1000 dolls house fans,” said Keely.

You can either build your own dolls house or have one made especially for you. It could be a cutting edge, modern design or something from your favourite period.

The Dolls House Store is one of the few trademarked brands in this industry of miniatures. Keely’s enthusiasm exceeds the walls of her shops so she created a 700-page catalogue.
