Milton Keynes residents are invited to wear their favourite hat and join Action on Hearing Loss’s MADD Hatter’s Tea Party on Tuesday where they can find out about a variety of rewarding local volunteering opportunities.
The event, which is being organised to mark Make A Difference Day (MADD), is taking place between 10am and 11.30am at Age UK Milton Keynes base at 1 Chadds Lane, Peartree Bridge.
As well as having the chance to enjoy a drink, visitors can find out how they can make a real difference by encouraging people to protect their hearing and take the charity’s hearing check by visiting the website
There are also roles for individuals interested in helping the charity’s sensory service supporting people who are deaf and have sight loss.
Action on Hearing Loss’s Pauline Jarvis said: “We hope to see lots of people attending our MADD Hatters Tea Party and look forward to speaking with everyone interested in using their time, skills and talent for our rewarding volunteering opportunities in the Milton Keynes area.
“We have a variety of volunteering vacancies, including roles helping to raise awareness about the importance of looking after your hearing, getting your hearing checked and reducing isolation affecting people with hearing loss.”
The charity will provide all the training needed to carry out the roles and cover volunteer expenses. Where possible, hours will be flexible to suit individual needs.
