Donate unwanted coats and help the homeless in Milton Keynes this winter
London Midland is playing its part in helping homeless persons across Milton Keynes.
Between 7am and 10am on tomorrow (November 30) the town’s railway station is hosting the launch of “Wrap up Warm MK”.
Organised by local resident Karen Phillips, the scheme asks people to donate unwanted coats that are still in reasonable condition.
The coats are then given to a number of charities that support homeless persons including Winter Night Shelter, Open Door and MK Storehouse.
After the launch tomorrow, collections will continue at a number of other locations around Milton Keynes until December 18.
Collection points will include:
Bar Bar Community Arts Bar, 16 The Square, Wolverton (Danny Quinn & Georgie Tillery)
St Andrew’s Baptist Church, St Andrews Road Bletchley MK3 5DR

Steve Helfet from London Midland, said: “This is such a simple and powerful idea.
“Lots of us have an old coat in the back of our wardrobes that we hardly ever wear.
“That one item of clothing can make a real difference to a homeless person this winter, that’s why we are getting behind Karen and Wrap Up Warm MK.”
