A publican set himself the challenge of running two ultra-marathans - and a normal marathon, just for fun.

Steve Sharrock, who works at The Three Horseshoes, Drayton Parslow, has raised £365 for Macmillan Cancer Support to run the South Downs Way (50 miles) in April, the London to Brighton (62 miles) in May, and the Milton Keynes Marathon on May 5.

Steve ran the 50-mile South Downs Way Ultra Marathon on April 4,

He said: “I started running about five years ago just to try to get fit,

“I’ve run a couple of ultra-marathons in the past, but as I’m 40 this year I thought I’d try something a bit special.

“Everything we raise will make a big difference and go towards helping Macmillan to carry on their invaluable work supporting cancer sufferers and their families,”

Steve will also be running the Milton Keynes marathon on May 5, to keep himself interested.
