A pensioner dressed up as a tiger to win a dream holiday for himself and his wife – all thanks to Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
The shows’ famous Supercomputer came to centre:mk earlier this month and, in a spur of the moment impulse, Ray Jones from Bletchley thought he would give it a go.
He said: “When I won the prize I just jumped up and down. I was absolutely exhausted – they make you work really hard for it. I am still on a high and haven’t stopped talking about it since.”
A series of amusing games left Mr Jones facing one other opponent – with the prospect of going home with a lolly or two tickets to New York.
But thanks to his grrr-eat attitude, Mr Jones claimed the big prize. It was only afterwards he realised he and his wife, Jill, hadn’t owned a passport since 1986.
But after a brainwave Mr Jones contacted his local MP for help – and they flew out on Tuesday.
Mrs Jones said: “I’m scared and excited all at the same time. It still doesn’t feel real.”
