Funny voices, movement and expressions are the ideal way to bring stories to life and a visit from an actor made for an inspirational World Book Day.

Actor David Garrud entertained children at Stoke Goldington CE First School with a lively drama workshop and book reading.

David is a member of the Tall Stories theatre company.

Tall Stories brings favourite children’s tales to the stage.

Julia Donaldson’s ‘The Gruffalo’ and ‘Room on the Broom’ are part of the repertoire.

David has played both the ‘Frog’ and the ‘Dog’ in the stage version of ‘Room on the Broom’, a yarn that sees a witch and her cat flying happily on a broomstick – until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s hat and wand.

All the pupils were encouraged to perform as David shared his acting tips and narrated the tale.
