College bosses have received new recognition for their careers and education advice.

The Matrix Award is backed by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), and is only given to schools, colleges and government departments providing the highest level of information, advice and guidance (IAG).

It means that students are given the best possible counsel about what to study to help them achieve their career aspirations, and allows the college to bid for new contract work across in other colleges as well as the Offender Learning/Community Programme.

Faye Williams, faculty director for student services and active industries at Milton Keynes College, said: “I am delighted with the award. This is recognition of the enormous strides we have made in making quality IAG, the cornerstone of our delivery approach. It puts student experience at the centre of all that we do and underpins our approach of putting students on the right course, first time, every time.”
