BUDDING reporters at St Paul’s Catholic School, Walton High, Holywell Middle School and Oakgrove School were given a glimpse into the real life world of journalism after taking part in BBC School Report.
The scheme tasks pupils with planning, researching, writing and recording their own news reports for a day.
Pupils at St Paul’s enjoyed the challenge, saying: “It felt like we were actually journalists and people were counting on us to get our stories across. The best part of the day had to be the deadlines and the rush of it all, it was very exciting.”
Walton High’s students even had some of their reports aired live on BBC Three Counties Radio, and set up their own twitter feed to update followers on the day’s events.
